Long Weekend - Some ME Time

Haven't heard from Prettiest Cousin in a few days now. Last I knew they were heading to Jackson. PC, if you made it there and everyone is ok, pleae let us know. Any word on your 2 friends in question? I've been praying for them to be located, safe & sound. I've set up a blood drive at job 1 and we're taking monetary donations for the Red Cross. Anything else we can do?

The end of day 2 of my 4 day weekend. Son and his fiance are gone. House is clean and tidy, dishes done, laundry done, yard work pretty much done. Boy, could I get used to this! Even laid on my own couch at my own leisure and watched a couple movies. Haven't done that in a long time. The dogs must think I've lost my mind. Hmmm maybe I have!

An old ex of mine calls tonight. Drunk. Wants me to know he's in town. He lives in MN now. Why would I care? And drunk?? Yeah, like that's scoring him any points. Good think I didn't answer my phone and thank GOD for answering machines! But he "looovvessss" me... and "mmmissssseessss" me... uhu - instant casinova, just add alcohol.

I bought a few new clothes AND shoes today. I've really just got to be in the mood to do that. I even bought a skirt. Haven't owned a dress since 1991 and I bought that for my Mothers funeral. Hmmm me - skirt? That's almost like a type-o. I bought some high heeled slip-on clog type shoes to go with it. And knee-hi's. What has this world come to? The other shoes - I just love shoes... plain black and plain brown - so you can wear them with about anything. I probably have 12-15 pairs of shoes. I just love them. Almost as much as chocolate or Vanilla Chai Tea.

Have spent the better part of the day working on YS quilt. You know, the one I started for Christmas LAST YEAR?? Well, things are looking up and there's hope for this year. All the blocks are sewn and cut and pressed and some are even sewn together in the design they were fashioned for. I hope it comes out alright. My Mother was a fantastic seamstress. I can just hear her looking down here at this mess and saying "you know, you really should tear that out!!" She'd be right too, but, I don't have the patience to tear it out. There are two strings of thread holding that baby together and I say she stays! (can't you just see her rolling her eyes and shaking her head, thinking she didn't raise me that way??)

I don't know much else. Keep praying for those in the South. Pray for E & D to be located and in contact with someone soon.

The heart remembers best what it loved the most.
